Why should we have a lowchen in the family?

Lowchen are fun loving, family pets. The enjoy companionship and being around their family, what ever they might be doing.

Lowchen are a highly adaptive breed that will go running with the avid jogger, cuddle on the couch with the movie buff or play peek-a-boo with the little ones. They are a low/non-shedding breed so are ideal for families with an allergy sufferer, though this does mean that they need regular trips to the groomer I find it's a preferable trade off to the house being covered and dropped dog hair!

Coat and grooming aside, this breed is quite low maintenance. There are very few health problems so your trips to the vet will only be to have a check up and vaccine boosters to get your little fluff ball ready for their vaccation to the boarding kennel while the family goes on their annual family holiday!

While these lions are robust and healthy, we recommend asking lots of questions of  an breeder you are intending to purchase your new family member from to ensure that the breeder has performed due dilligence in their breeding program and there are no known health defection, congenital or hereditary.

Lowchen have a life span of 12-16 years, so you will be making a big commitment in purchasing your little lion. On the bright side, spending a little more time in the research aspect of your purchase will ensure that your new family member is happy and healthy, a member of your family for many years.
